Juan García Aparicio is Civil Engineer with Master in Water and Sanitation by Madrid Polytechnical University, in addition he is Civil Engineer by University of Chili . He has developed his 24 year of career in water, sanitation and environmental sectors, undertaking several appointments of technical and managing roles. He has worked for AGBAR (Veolia Group) for the last 12 years, serving as Engineering Director, Operation Manager, Madrid Area Manager and nowadays he is performing as Urban Water Director of Veolia Spain, in charge of mora than 150 collaborators, and holding operational and business development responsibilities for several BU’s such as Engineering, Asset Management, Hydraulic Networks Efficiency and Networks Cleaning&Rehabilitation. Since 2018 he is the Iberian Trenchless Technologies Association (Ibstt) President.

Graduated in Physics at Turin University, he holds a Master in Economics from CEDEP in Fontainebleau (France). Before graduating, he started a collaboration that lasted 10 years at CSELT in Turin. He worked in SIP, (Italian Telecommunication Company) where he was in charge of the optical fibre field trials implementations and the definition of specifications related to cable materials and systems for the fibre and copper network. Then moved to Spain, where he has been Network Director first of Madritel Telecommunications and after of Auna Holding. In 2002, he became responsible for the Control Management at Telecom Italia and later on Member of the Board of Directors of ETECSA (Telecommunication operator in Cuba). In 2004, he was appointed Marketing Director for Anese srl and developed potential business in the Horizontal Directional Drilling field. He has been Chairman of IATT from 1994 to 2000, and currently serves as member of the Board. In 2014 he has been appointed Head of IATT’s Permanent Technical Committees. He is author and co-author of more than 50 papers on Telecommunication and no-dig and of the book titled: Optical Fibre Communication by technical staff of CSELT (1980).

Francesco is Full Professor of Chemical-Environmental Engineering and Coordinator of the PhD Program in Civil, Environmental, Building Engineering and Architecture at Polytechnic University of Marche (Italy). Dipl. Ing. graduated from the ENPC (Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées). He has been General Manager at HOBAS Group, a worldwide leading GRP pipes producer. Active in the water sector for more than 40 years, he has been an expert member of ASTEE (French National Scientific Association for the Water Industry), member of the Executive Committees for French sanitation regulations and European Standardization Committees (TC155/WG14, JWG TC164/165 WG12, Co-normative research Composite Pipes…) and RERAU (National Research and Development Group for the Renovation of Urban Sewers). He was a member of the French Certification Committees CSTB in charge of water management/pipes and water treatment. He was the President of the French Standardization Committee for Composite pipes. He is Administrator member of the FSTT Board (French branch of the ISTT International Society for Trenchless Technologies) in charge of International activities. He has been actively involved in the new French design methods for rehabilitation systems recently adopted by ASCE (MOP 145). Has made many presentations at national and international technical congresses: Pollutec, ASTEE, Hydrotop, CWWA (Cental America), INFRA (Canada); No Dig International (Toronto, Madrid, Beijing, Berlin, ..)… Has published several technical papers in national and international magazines: TSM, Hydroplus, TI, CERIU,…

Associate Professor in Hydraulic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano since March 2007 (part-time since November 2013). Winner of the competition for Full Professor at Unicamp (Brasil) on May 17th 2013, he decided not to accept the offer. Member of the Board of the Directors at Wessex Institute of Technology since January 2011. Technical Judge in the regional “Tribunale delle Acque Pubbliche” (specific court for public waters) since 2008. Author of more than 100 publications on journals, conferences, books. Freelance consultant on water supply networks, sewerage systems and environmental hydraulics. Among others, he served Pan American Health Organization (OPAS) for sanitation improvement in rural areas; the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a project in Pakistan; General Electric to model treatment plants in Kuwait, Algeria, Iraq, Dubai. He is presently appointed as “expert consultant for PNRR” by the Italian government. In the area of trenchless technologies, he consulted both Managers of the Urban Water System (MM and CAP) and Companies (Rotech, Idroambiente, Inteco, Blueco) on a number of projects. He developed a new method for computing the waterhammer celerity in case of composite pipes (host pipe + liner) and compared the CO2 emissions in case of open air and trenchless works.

Quintilio Napoleoni was born on 21/02/1964 in Tivoli (Rome). Master of Science in Hydraulics Engineering on 1989 at the University of Rome “Sapienza”. He is an Aggregate Professor in Geotechnical Engineering at the University of Rome “Sapienza" – Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering - Faculty of Engineering, DICEA. He is a member of: the Association Geotechnical Italian (AGI), the International Society for Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMFE), the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS-AGI), the Italian Tunneling Association (SIG). He was editor, in collaboration with Dr. S. Tunesi, of the book: "Technologies for Remediation of contaminated sites: operating principles and criteria of selection." Published by Il Sole 24 Ore, Milan (2203). He is a member of the Working Group on the drafting of the Guidelines on the monitoring of natural and artificial tunnels of the Superior Council of Public Works He is a member of the Working Group on the drafting of UNI Standards on the execution of mini-trenches for installation of pipe infrastructures under the roads. He is a member of the Working Group for the definition of End of Waste procedures for drilling muds from Microtunnel and Horizontal Direction Drilling. He was a member of the Scientific Committee of the Sottosopra-Upsidedown magazine published by the Lombardy Region. He is referee for the Environmental Geotechnics Journal. Ed ICE Publishing Journals Uk. He was author or co-author of over 70 congresses' memories and publications in national and international journals on topics of Geotechnics and Environmental Geotechnics. His research activities is focused on mechanical behaviour of MSW and environmental geotechnics, dealing with reclamation and design of waste disposal and landfill, reclamation of polluted sites and toward naturalistic engineering techniques applied to slope stability and to the use of reinforced soil structures.

Associate Professor of Hydraulic and Maritime Structures and Hydrology at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Pavia. Member of the Scientific Technical Committee of the Interdepartmental Centre on Water Research of the University of Pavia. Ph.D. in Civil (Hydraulic) Engineering from University of Pavia and Master of High Education from the Advanced School of Integrated Education SAFI of the University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia. Involved in national and international research projects and scientific consultancy activities in the field of hydrology, hydraulics, hydraulic structures and integrated urban water cycle management. Author of about 80 scientific papers published on refereed Journals, edited Books, Manuals and Conference Proceedings. Co-author of a Monograph on one of the richest Italian database on urban drainage. Co-editor of a Technical Manual on stormwater control widely adopted in Italy, with 35 contributing Authors from University and Italian Ministry for Environment, Territory and Sea Protection. Topic Editor and Guest Editor for the Sustainability MDPI Journal. Reviewer for ISI referenced Journals and for CRC Press, Taylor and Francis Group.

Engineer for the Environment and the Territory with many years of experience in hydraulic (aqueduct, sewerage, river) and infrastructural design with positions of Director of Works (and Services), of Process Manager of numerous public contracts and of technical, static and administrative tester for public Works. In MM he holds the role of Head of the Services of the Water Service Division including the Authorization Management services for the SII construction sites, Cartography (GIS), Innovation and Research, Warehouse and Car park management, Waste Management. Since 2016 Member of the IATT National Board of Directors, Vice President since 2020, he is the author of numerous memoirs on "NO-DIG" issues; participates in various technical commissions in IATT, UNI and Utilitalia on issues related to "trenchless" interventions on the networks of the Water Service.

Tom Sangster is a professionally qualified Civil Engineer with 35 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering and underground pipe networks and is Managing Director of Downley Consultants, an internationally renowned consulting engineer specialising in trenchless technology projects. Mr. Sangster gained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Surrey in 1978 and became a chartered civil engineer in 1983. He also holds an MBA from a leading UK business school. His early career was spent in design of water supply and wastewater systems and in geotechnical and foundations contracting. He also gained senior sales and marketing experience with companies manufacturing products for civil engineering applications. He has undertaken and managed many water and sewer pipe inspection, condition assessment and rehabilitation projects throughout the world. His experience in underground infrastructure encompasses innovative installation, assessment and rehabilitation and in developing strategies for managing rehabilitation programmes including QA and risk management. He is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is a member of the Council of UKSTT and a past President of the Swiss Society for Trenchless Technology, CHSTT.

He graduated from Istanbul Technical University Mechanical Engineering department in 2004. He worked at Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) during the years of 2005 - 2008 as supervising engineer for the construction of pipelines, water reservoirs and pumping stations. He was officially charged as a Coordinator on behalf of ISKI for 5th World Water Forum. With his graduation dissertation entitled ‘Water Management in The Metropolises and Evaluation of Water Management in Two Metropolises (Istanbul and Moscow)’ at Istanbul University MBA in 2010, he carried his professional background to academic dimension. He has been serving as Board Member, ESC Member, Committee Member and Trustee at ISTT (International Society for Trenchless Technology) since 2010 and as Governor at WWC (World Water Council) since 2019. He has technical papers presented at international conferences and articles published in magazines. He has served as Scientific Committee Member at international conferences. He has given several interviews to television-radio channels and newspapers. He serves as the Chairman of TSITT (Turkish Society of Infrastructure and Trenchless Technologies). He works as Managing Director at TORENCON Engineering and Consulting Ltd. which provides engineering and consulting services for trenchless and water industries.

He has more than 35 years’ experience in TLC, began with the participation to S.O.C.R.A.T.E.’s project for the planning and designing of internet broadband to be distributed nationally. He served as Rapporteur to several ITU Committees for the set up of governance guidelines regarding TLC system and reference price lists to be applied internationally, author of technical best practises within the CEI (Italian Electromechanics Committee). Since 2011 he has the role of Senior Officer in TIM, in charge of the definition and set up of Agreements with Public Administration, member of several Technical Task Force for the definition of National Laws for the use of trenchless technologies (Dlgs33/2016), and “right of way” with Public and private counterpart. Since 1999 he served as Chairman of IATT; he sits in several Technical Commissions for no dig issues in UNI (Italian National Regulatory Body), Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Environment, ANCI (Italian Associations of Municipalities). He is a representative in ANCE (Italian Association Civil Builders) and in UNINDUSTRIA Roma e Lazio for trenchless technologies. He is the author of numerous articles, member of various editorial committee member and Scientific Committee in National and International conferences. He has given several interviews to television channels and newspapers.

Antonino Valenza holds a Degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Materials Engineering from the University of Palermo (Italy). Here he began his career as an assistant professor and then relocated to Messina as associate professor of Polymeric and Composite Materials. He then moved back to the University of Palermo as full professor of Science and Technology of Materials at the Civil, Environmental, Aerospace, Materials Engineering Department in 2002. He has also been head of the Interdepartmental Centre of Composite Materials; coordinator of the Degree Course in Building Systems; Vice Rector for the Technology Transfer Office at the University of Palermo since 2005; President of Advanced Technologies Network (ATeN) Center; at the moment he is Director of the Engineering Department. He is expert of polymer technology and composite materials. He is author of more than 150 peer-reviewed technical and scientific international publications. He participates to national and international scientific projects and collaborates with groups in the frame of European project.
